Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is participating in the World Alzheimer's Month, which is held in September of each year, with a series of public awareness events held this year under the theme of the global campaign "Let's Talk about Dementia" with the aim of increasing community awareness about dementia disease.
HMC has said in a statement on its website that efforts to develop elderly care services and raise awareness of Alzheimer's disease are continuing in the State of Qatar. In this context, Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad, Qatar's National Health Strategy Lead for Healthy Ageing and Medical Director of Rumailah Hospital and Qatar Rehabilitation Institute, indicated that "RAHA" service has been launched, which is a national helpline to provide support and advice to Alzheimer's patients and their family members while ensuring that confidentiality and privacy are maintained.
Those interested can contact the National Helpline for Alzheimer and Dementia (RAHA), via telephone number 40262222 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, from Sunday to Thursday to submit their inquiries about Alzheimer's disease or Dementia.
