Request Vehicle Ownership Transfer

Qataris, residents, companies and organizations, holding smart ID cards, can transfer their ownership to other persons or companies; and pay the due fees online through Ministry of Interior online website.

Online Instructions

  • Log in with your smartcard to the e-services portal of MOI.
  • Click on "Traffic Services" then "Vehicle Ownership Transfer".
  • Enter vehicle number and new owner information.
  • Choose license delivery option: personally or by mail courier.
  • Pay fees and print/save receipt.

Offline Instructions

  • Download, print and fill out the paper form.
  • Bring original vehicle registration, along with copies of ID from both seller and buyer and insurance document under the buyer’s name.
  • Bring your car along with its registration card to the MOI Traffic Department.

Additional Information

  • For companies: signing transportation approval and providing a sealed letter with an attached copy of the company registration card.
  • Mortgaged vehicles: ownership transfer can be made after getting approval from mortgagee under ownership transfer authorization.
  • Vehicles sold through car agencies: car agency seal on the agency authorization card is approved as long as the seal and the signature are matching with the authorization card, and a sealed copy from the car agency is to be appended to the buyer and seller IDs along with their signatures on the form.
  • Vehicles sold through courts or auction: ownership transfer can be made without getting back to their owners based on court order or letter from the competent authority.
  • GCC citizens should attend to sign and show their IDs, while residents, not working in government institutions, should provide a letter from the sponsor.
  • You can complete the transfer of vehicle ownership through Metrash2.


A transfer fee of QR100 applies.
