Request to Renew Vehicle Registration

Individuals and companies can renew their vehicle registration online through the Ministry of Interior (MOI) website.

Online Instructions

  • Login with your smartcard to the e-services portal of MOI.
  • Select “Traffic Services” from the list, then click on “Renew Vehicle Registration”.
  • Identify the search method for the vehicle.
  • Select the vehicle you need to renew the registration for.
  • Choose the new card registration’s delivery option: Personally from the General Directorate of Traffic, or by mail courier via Qatar Postal Services Company.
  • Pay fees and print/save receipt.

Offline Instructions

  • Print and fill out the application form.
  • Bring your car along with its original registration to the Ministry of Interior’s General Directorate of Traffic.
  • Provide proof of successful vehicle inspection from WOQOD (FAHES).
  • Give proof of car insurance, which should be valid for at least one year for all vehicles, or more than one year for new vehicles.
  • Pay appropriate fees.

You can visit the General Directorate of Traffic Headquarters at Madinet Khalifa (Check Google Maps), or any of the Traffic Service Centers.

Additional Information

  • Vehicle Registration should be expired.
  • Insurance should be valid.
  • Vehicle should pass the technical inspection test “in case it was manufactured three (3) years prior to current date”.

  • If you choose to receive the new registration card from mail courier, QR20 will be added to the original fees.
