Description

Individuals may submit a request to the General Traffic Directorate at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) to renew a learning permit for driving for themselves or one of their children to drive a certain vehicle.

Online Instructions

• Log in with your smartcard to the MOI e-services portal.
• Select “Traffic Services” then “Driving License” then “Renew Learning Permit for Driving”.
• Use the “Learning Permit Data” page to specify the QID number to which the required permit belongs.
• Select the option “My QID Number” if you are the beneficiary or “Another QID” if the beneficiary is someone else, then enter the 11-digit QID number.
• Provide “Vehicle Data” by entering plate number and selecting vehicle type, which represent the data of the vehicle that will be in driving using the learning permit for driving.
• Provide “Contact Data” by entering mobile number.
• Click on “Next” so that the system displays “Delivery Method” page.
• Review recorded mobile number.
• Select delivery option for the new permit: by collecting it at the Traffic Department or receiving it via Qatar Post.
• Click on “Next” to move to the “Payment” page that displays permit data and fees, including delivery fees.
• Click on “Pay” to pay appropriate fees using a credit card, debit card or bank transfer (in case of establishments only).
• Click on “Print Receipt” to print the payment receipt that is displayed along with a message on successful completion of the transaction.

Additional Information

• The user shall own a smart card to use the service.
• This service can be obtained at any time, and it is completed once the transaction is done by the user.
• This service is also available on Metrash2 mobile app.

Fees

Applicable fees are as follows:

• Renewal fees: QR150.
• Delivery fees: QR20.
