Request Refund of Bail Money (Public Prosecution)

Description

The person who has deposited bail money or whomever is acting for him/her upon a legal power of attorney, issued by the Ministry of Justice, may submit a request to the Public Prosecution to get a refund after confirmation of the applicant’s capacity, his/her relation to the case and the termination of the case by a decision of the Public Prosecution or by a court ruling after its implementation or the none appeal of the Public Prosecution.

The request is subject to the approval of the Public Prosecution; it is reviewed by the competent prosecution in case it is related to a case under investigation or dismissed, or it is reviewed by the enforcement prosecution in case a court ruling or criminal order has been issued.

Online Instructions

  • Login to the e-services portal of the Public Prosecution using Tawtheeq account.
  • View the “Services” menu and click on “Financial Requests” then “Request Refund of Bail Money”.
  • Select case by entering its details, then click on “Search”.
  • Fill out the application form and attach the following documents:
    • Copy of the Receipt issued by the Public Prosecution
    • QID or Passport Copy
    • Copy of Judgments
  • Click on “Send” to receive an SMS message confirming the request receipt.

Offline Instructions

  • Attend in person to the Public Prosecution headquarters.
  • Print out the paper form, then fill it out and submit it to the Public Prosecution.

Additional Information

  • This service is available online around the clock or by visiting the Public Prosecution building during the official working hours, from Sunday to Thursday from 7:30 am to 2:30 pm.
  • The person concerned or his representative shall submit according to a legal power of attorney issued by the Ministry of Justice.
  • This service requires three business days to be completed.
