Service Description

Companies and individuals may submit a request to Maritime Transport Planning and Licensing Department, at the Ministry of Transport (MOT), to obtain the preliminary approval for the certification of training centers and institutes that provide sailors and sea workers with specialized and technical courses.

Offline Instructions

• A letter on the request for preliminary approval shall be submitted to the department director.
• A specialized team studies the request and checks the attached documents, certificates and previous experiences of staffs working in training centers.
• The headquarters of centers and institutes will be checked to ensure whether these headquarters, classrooms, workshops and support equipment are well equipped.  
• Types, titles and periods of courses will be determined and surveyed.

• After fulfilling all required conditions in the centers and institutes, the subject matter will be escalated to issue a preliminary approval for activity. Moreover, visits and checkups of these centers will conducted, particularly during first year and constantly. 
• This service takes about 2 weeks to be completed.
