Service Description

Companies may submit a request to the Drainage Networks Operations & Maintenance Department of the Assets Affairs Sector at the Public Works Authority "Ashghal" to get a permit for groundwater dewatering, as part of the drainage services provided by Ashghal.

Ashghal provides access to its assets for the purpose of groundwater dewatering in construction sites under the supervision of the Drainage Networks Operations & Maintenance Department. It is to be noted that only contractors approved by Asghal may apply for a dewatering permit.

Online Instructions

  • Login to Ashghal Customer Zone Portal and click on "Apply".
  • Fill in the online form entering all the required information, then click on "Submit".
  • Attach the following documents:
To obtain new dewatering permit:
  • Official letter from the dewatering company to the director of the Drainage Networks Operations & Maintenance Department, clarifying the application type (renewal/ change/ discharge location/ quantity change) making sure to write affirmed start and end dates of the dewatering work.
  • Scanned copy of the application with all signatures and stamps provided
  • Copy of ID of engineer (applicant)
  • Copy of site plan and building permit
  • Method of statement for dewatering
  • Program of works, including key personal information
  • Geo-technical and geo-environmental report, dewatering equipment layout plan, and site contingency plan.
  • Program of works, including key personnel information
  • Copy of Road Opening (RO), if needed.
  • Copy of weekly water sample test results (for four months).
To renew/modify current dewatering permit:
  • Official letter from the dewatering company to the Drainage Networks Operations & Maintenance Department, making sure to write affirmed start and end dates of the dewatering work/ modifications.
  • Copy of ID of engineer (applicant)
  • Copy of old permit
  • Copy of site plan and building permit
  • Copy of road opening -RO- if needed
  • Weekly sampling plan
  • Weekly flow meter readings and water level readings
  • Weekly site maintenance record.
