Description

This service enables individuals and establishments to submit a request to the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior (MOI) to issue glass tinting permit for vehicles, as per the governing rules and regulations.

Online Instructions

• Log in with your smartcard to the e-services portal of MOI.
• Click on “Traffic Services” then “Vehicles” followed by “Glass Tinting Permit”.
• Use “Vehicle Inquiry” page to inquire about the details of the vehicle(s) you own to issue a glass tinting permit.
• To inquire about all owned vehicles: Keep the default choice “My Vehicles” selected as it is.
• Click on “Next” so that the system displays a list of your owned vehicles.
• Use the “List of Vehicles” page to select the button next to the plate number of the vehicle for which you need to issue glass tinting permit.
• To issue glass tinting permit a specific vehicle: Select the button available next to “Certain Vehicle”, enter the plate number in the allotted box “Vehicle Number”, then select the vehicle type (private, taxi, limousine, …etc.) from the option list “Vehicle Type”.
• Click on “Next” so that the system displays the “Delivery Method” in order to select the means of delivering the new permit (vehicle permit) that contains glass tinting permit, by collecting it from the Traffic Department or receiving it via Qatar Postal Services Company (Qatar Post).
• Click on “Next” so that the system displays the “Fee Payment” page that shows the service fees, delivery and vehicle details.
• To pay the fees: Click on “Fee Payment” to move to the bank screen and pay appropriate fees via a credit or debit card or through bank transfer (in case of establishments only).

Additional Information

• The user shall own a smart card to use the service.
• This service can be obtained at any time and immediately.
• This service is also available via Metrash2.
• After fee payment, the system displays a message to confirm successful completion of the transaction and show receipt.

Applicable fees are as follows:

• Service fees: QR20
• Vehicle permit delivery via Qatar Post: Additional fees.
