Request Funding for Wooden Ships

Service Description

Owners of traditional and private fishing ships may submit a request to the Fisheries Department at the Ministry of Municipality to receive funding for eligible traditional wooden ships (sammak - private), in accordance with the terms and regulations issued in this regard, with the aim of preserving the traditional heritage form of wooden ships (boom, sanbook, shuie, baqqara, bateel, jalboot, kuteh).

Offline Instructions

  • Download and fill out the paper form, then submit it to the Office of the Fish Resources Department.
  • Attach the following documents:
    • Copy of QID of ship owner
    • Valid Small Craft Registration Certificate (issued by the Ministry of Transport)
    • Copy of fishing permit (in case the ship type is sammak)
    • Bank letter, clarifying the IBAN no.

Additional Information

  • The funding request shall meet the terms and regulations pertaining to the annual financial support for wooden ships.
  • In case of funding eligibility, the ship is added to the list of ships with funding eligibility.
  • In case of ineligibility, the customer is notified about the rejection via SMS.
  • This service requires 30-60 days to be completed.
