Ithmar (Seed Funding) program provides Qatari entrepreneurs with the support and equity capital necessary to start their business. The aim of the program is to build a new generation of Qatari entrepreneurs and promote economic diversification in Qatar enabling robust private sector business opportunities for Qataris.

Online Instructions

• Choose Products and Services list found on QDB’s homepage, and then choose Ithmar (Seed Funding) from the Financial Products lists.
• To apply for the program, please choose "Submit Here" on the service information page.

Enter the required data and attach the following documents:

• QID of the owner
• Business Model - Feasibility Study
• CV
• Choose “Seed Funding” from the list of "Services you are interested in”
• Enter the verification word
• Agree on the terms and conditions
• Submit the application

Additional Information

• ​​ QDB finances up to 90% of the funding needed for the project (10% financed by the entrepreneur) with a maximum investment limit of QR 900k.
• Ithmar is a Shari'a-compliant equity product that is structured through a convertible Musharaka agreement, and which works as follows:
• QDB and the client will merge their capital with the aim of making profit, whereby the funding will be done through a convertible Musharaka contract that can later be converted into shares.
• The convertible Musharaka contract is automatically renewed on an annual basis.
• After conversion into shares, QDB's existing Istithmar (SME equity) program criteria will apply.
• The program is available for Qatari individuals, or teams with active Qatari members, who are above 18 years old, who have innovative sustainable and scalable businesses.
• ​The program includes all sectors (except trade, real estate and contracting).​​
