Issue Provisional Registration Certificate for Big Vessels

Service Description

Companies may submit a request online on the website of the Ministry of Transport (MOT) to issue a provisional registration certificate for big vessels.

Online Instructions

  • Select "Issuing Qatar Provisional Registration Certificates" service from the "Big Vessels" list, available under Maritime Transport services on MOT website.    
  • Click on the "Apply" button.
  • Login in the National Authentication System (Tawtheeq).
  • Attach the following documents:
    • Filling in the application form prepared by Marine Regulations Department affiliated with MOT. 
    • An official letter from an owner on the registration request
    • A copy of commercial registration if an owner is a company
    • A copy of ID card and original ID card to ensure matching
    • A shipbuilding contract
    • A bill of shape sale
    • A deletion certificate
    • A mortgage certificate (if applicable)
  • Pay the appropriate fees and submit the request.

Offline Instructions

  • Download and fill out the paper form
  • Submit the abovementioned documents to MOT reception to complete the process.
