e-Gate Service

This service enables passengers, both citizens and residents, to complete the travel procedures through the e-gates at Hamad International Airport (HIA). The service saves a lot of time and effort to passengers in order to overcome the burden of waiting in front of the passport counters at HIA.

How to Get the Service

  • Place the travel document (QID/passport) at the e-gate entrance so that the first barrier that enables passengers to pass to half the gate opens.
  • Place your fingerprint or get your eye scanned for verification before the last barrier opens to allow passing to either the boarding gate or baggage collection area.

Additional Information

  • In case the service is not previously activated to residents or their children over 18 years old, please visit the office located next to the e-gates to activate and add the e-gate system service via the QID.
  • The system in the gate communicates to the passenger the required procedures as per the language of the submitted document; if the passenger submits a document in Arabic, s/he is addressed in Arabic, and if the passenger submits a document in English, s/he is addressed in English.


No fees are required for this service.
