Description

Individuals and businesses may submit a request to the Intellectual Property Protection Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) to oppose publishing a patent.

Online Instructions

  • Log in to the Investor Services, entering the username and password.
  • Choose “Apply to Oppose Patent Publishing” service from the “Chartered Accountants Services” list.
  • Read general instructions, then click on “Agree”.
  • Enter applicant data, with the possibility of amending email and cell phone, then click on “Next”.
  • Complete all the required information and attach the necessary documents.
  • Review and adopt application data summary and submit your application.
  • Pay appropriate fees.

Offline Instructions

  • All parties with interest to oppose publishing an accepted patent application in the official gazette submit an official request to the Intellectual Property Protection Department within two months of the publication date.
  • Provide any supporting documents.
  • Pay appropriate fees.
