Request Foul Sewage Network Houses and Facilities Connection

Individuals, companies and government entities may submit a request to the Drainage Networks Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Department of the Assets Affairs Sector at the Public Works Authority “Ashghal” to connect their properties or facilities to the Foul Sewer Network. The connection allows wastewater to be removed from the property and treated at an Ashghal Sewage Treatment Plant.

Online Instructions

  • Login to Ashghal Customer Zone Portal, then click on "Apply".
  • Fill in the online form entering all the required information.
  • Attach the following documents:
    • Copy of QID
    • Copy of land/property ownership document
    • House and land plan
    • Drainage Layout plan approved by PWA, Drainage Networks Design Dept. (for new buildings).
    • Approved drainage layout plans (for new buildings)
    • Service request form, signed and filled in.
  • Click on “Submit”.

Additional Information

  • Before an application for drainage service connection is made, the property owner must:
    • Ensure that the property detail provided on the application form is accurate.
    • Notify Ashghal three months prior to constructing the manholes and internal drainage.
    • Ensure that a grease and oil interceptor is constructed for petrol stations and restaurants.
  • The last Inspection Chamber, known as MH1 (terminal manhole), shall be located within 2m from the property boundary, but shall be an Ashghal property.
  • It is prohibited to build any structure over MH1.
  • The property owner or occupier of the land shall not discharge rain water, pool water, chemicals, paint, pesticides, newspapers, plastics, engine oils, nappies … etc., to the sewers.
  • If the property owner does not want the septic tank to be demolished, Ashghal is absolved from any responsibility for the abandonment of the septic tank and connection to the sewerage network and for many costs incurred thereof in future.
  • In the event that the property owner requires to change the existing service connection provided by Ashghal, the owner shall bear the cost of such new connection based on prior approval from the Department.
  • A property owner shall be allowed to accelerate the process of his/her connection out of the schedule set by Ashghal, if s/he expresses willingness to bear all costs associated with the construction and supervision of the necessary works, provided they will form an integrated part of a designed network of the area and are in compliance with Ashghal regulations and specifications.
  • All house connection activities shall be subjected to the house connection section’s supervision, whether it is done at the expense of Ashghal or of the property owner.
  • Ashghal is not responsible for buildings that not connected areas to its sewage networks.

Applicable connection fees are as follows:

  • First House Connection (Qatari): Free.
  • First House Connection (Non-Qatari): QR6000.
  • Second House (Commercial/Governmental): QR12,000.
  • Monthly Usage Charge: 20% of KAHRAMAA Water Bill.
