The World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), one of the global initiatives of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, joined the pledge for gender equality in the health workforce in the workplace in health care institutions.
This pledge came as part of WISH's participation in the virtual event hosted by the Government of France, and World Health Organization (WHO), titled Gender Equal Health and Workforce Initiative (GEHWI), with the participation of speakers and officials from various governments and major international organizations.
In this regard, Ms. Sultana Afdhal, CEO of WISH, said: "Based on our role in the global health field, we are fully aware of the vital role that women play in healthcare institutions, women make up more than half of the frontline health workers, so it was necessary to better represent women in leadership positions in this sector".
