The Ministry of Transport (MOT) announced the start of test operation at Al Rayyan Public Bus Depot, to support the implementation of the transformation strategy for electric vehicles prepared by the Ministry in cooperation with the concerned authorities.

The operation announcement of the first of four public transport buses depots comes in the context of implementing the Public Bus Infrastructure Program that supports the Ministry’s effort to provide an integrated and sustainable public transport system that covers all urban areas in Qatar and forms a coherent transportation network that includes the public transport bus systems, the Doha Metro network, and Lusail Tram.

Works at the other three depots in Lusail, Al Wakra and New Industrial Area are planned to complete in the third quarter of 2022, and will include all necessary service and living facilities.
