"Smart City Expo Doha 2022" Welcomes World Innovation Leaders

Under the patronage of HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, the "Smart City Expo Doha 2022" kicked off yesterday at Msheireb Downtown Doha, the exclusive global conference for smart cities in the region was organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), in partnership with Fira de Barcelona.

The conference was inaugurated by HE Mohamed bin Ali bin Mohamed Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, in the presence of Mr. Ricard Zapatero Camps, CEO of Fira Barcelona International and Mr. Francis Suarez, Mayor of Miami and host of the Smart Cities Expo in the USA Miami; Mr. Hardy Davis Jr., Mayor of Augusta and Engineer Nasser Matar Al Kawari, CEO of Msheireb Properties, as well as a number of high-level officials and a group of prominent experts and speakers specialized in the field of smart cities.

HE Mohamed bin Ali bin Mohamed Al Mannai, Minister of Communications and Information Technology, said: " We are pleased to hold the Smart City Expo Doha in Qatar for the second time, where we will connect with local and international stakeholders, experts and specialists in the field to explore the latest trends and exchange ideas and experiences as we work to ensure accelerating digital transformation, achieving a knowledge-based economy, and transitioning towards smart cities with the aim of improving the quality of life in Qatar in various sectors".
