About

Dr. Khalid Al Ansari, Head of Emergency Medicine and Child Advocacy Center at Sidra Medicine and Founder of Child Advocacy Program, said that the pandemic of Coronavirus (COVID-19) has negatively impacted families and children, pointing out that there is a hotline to receive calls and report cases of violence against children.

Al Ansari also said that children below the age of 10 years old could not understand the core of the disease, but the disease has affected children and constituted a new lifestyle as manifested in the lack of communication with others.

He noted that the disease has affected parents physically, psychologically and morally, while the positive aspects of this disease enable parents to stay with children for a long time, explaining that children above 12 years of age are also affected with such influences, and get scared of being infected, in addition to being affected by staying home sometimes.
