The Shura Council held its regular weekly session yesterday under the chairmanship of HE Mr. Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud, Chairman of the Council, through visual communication technology at the headquarters of the Council.
At the beginning of the session, the Council discussed a draft law organizing health care services within the country, which includes 47 articles and 6 chapters, and provides for the provision of health care services to citizens in Government health facilities free of charge.
According to the draft law, the Ministry of Public Health shall set standards for providing health care services in Government and private health facilities, and compulsory health insurance and overseeing it, as well as providing an integrated, high-quality, efficient and sustainable health system, and working to develop and maintain compulsory health insurance.
