The efforts of The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) and Qatar Green Building Council (QGBC), a member of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, are continue to support sustainable practices in hotels as Qatar prepares to host the most sustainable edition in the history of the World Cup next year.

The cooperation between the two sides aims to achieve a lasting and tangible transformation in the hospitality sector, by helping hotels follow sustainable best practices.SC cooperates with QGBC to provide a series of workshops with the participation of hotel managers, engineering services and cleaning officials, food and beverage workers, and others, to discuss current operational challenges, ways to overcome them, and highlight the best sustainable practices in hotels and ways to develop them.

Eng. Bodour al Meer, SC’s Sustainability Director, stressed the importance of the collaboration with QGBC, with the aim of encouraging green practices in the hotel sector, noting that the sector will play an active role in the successful hosting of the first edition of the World Cup in the Arab world and the Middle East.
