Qatar University (QU) ranked second in the Arab world according to the first Arab university ranking that was published yesterday by Times Higher Education (THE), where King Abdulaziz University in Saudi Arabia ranked first in the Arab region.

The new Arab University Ranking, conducted for the first time by Times Higher Education and including 125 institutions in 14 countries, shows the strength of higher education across the region based on a unique approach that includes new regional benchmarks cantered on reputation and collaboration, along with benchmarks related to social impact, which would reflect aspects of the focus of Arab universities.
