Qatar University (QU) has been ranked 245th globally and fifth among Arab universities according to the Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Ranking 2021.
QU has moved up 306 places since 2014 globally. Moreover, over the six consecutive years, the University has moved up six times and has not shown any negative performances. According to the QS World University Rankings in the 2021 edition, QU has performed among the top 21%.
Commenting on this achievement, HE Dr. Hassan Al Derham, QU President, said: "We feel proud at this moment in which QU has been ranked 245th globally, since we have improved 31 places compared to last year. Thus, QU has been ranked as among the best 250 universities globally. Therefore, this makes it imperative for us to continue competing global long-standing universities and institutions. This creates greater impetus to continue making progress given that we are the first academic institution in the State of Qatar. We emphasize QU's commitment towards the five-year strategy (2018-2022) that aims to achieve continuing performance excellence."
