The activities of the "Libraries Lead" forum, organized by Qatar National Library (QNL), kicked off with the participation of experts and information specialists representing many local, regional and international entities to discuss ways to enhance the United Nations plan for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) 2030.
HE Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, State Minister, and President of QNL, opened the forum with a welcoming speech, followed by a panel discussion entitled "Engaging Stakeholders: Getting the Message Out to Decision Makers and Influencers".
As part of the forum’s activities, Dr. Jamal Al Yafei, Assistant Director of Strategic Planning at the Planning and Statistics Authority, highlighted the role of the Planning and Statistics Authority in achieving the sustainable development goals in Qatar. Also, Dr. Imad Bachir, IFLA Chair of the MENA Regional Division, spoke on the opportunities and challenges facing the libraries of the MENA region in achieving the sustainable development goals.
