About

The State of Qatar topped in the Network Readiness Index for any country to benefit from the communications and information technology network approved by the International Telecommunication Union. The report indicated that Qatar is ranked 38th in the world out of 134 countries and second in the Arab world in the sub-index related to infrastructure and the availability of electronic content.

The report also indicated that Qatar is ranked globally in the sub-index related to the adoption of modern technologies by individuals in terms of mobile phone coverage, mobile phone subscriptions, private personal devices, and mobile broadband subscriptions. The main network readiness index is based on a sub-set of indicators related to the use and impact of communications and information technology on individuals and companies. It is concerned with evaluating the institutions, factors and policies that enable the country to take full advantage of information and communication technology to increase competitiveness and improve services.
