The State of Qatar has been ranked sixth among 63 mostly high-income countries in the Economic Performance Index, according to the indexes of the World Competitiveness Yearbook 2020, which is annually published by Switzerland-based International Institute for Management Development (IMD). According to the statement issued by Planning and Statistics Authority (PSA), the assessment this year emphasizes the continuity and resilience of the State of Qatar's performance across various fields.
This statement pointed out that the assessment of the competitiveness, in which the State of Qatar has achieved the 14th rank globally, depends on a set of data and indexes provided domestically, as well as the results of surveying a sample of business managers and businessmen regarding the business environment and the competitiveness of the Qatari economy.
HE Dr. Saleh bin Mohammed Al Nabit, PSA President, said that this ranking achieved by the State of Qatar bolsters Qatar's high strong performance across various fields, and added that it is certain that the results would help in identifying possible areas for further improvements.
