Qatar has ranked as the safest country among Arab and Middle East countries in the Global Terrorism Index for the year 2022 issued by the Australian Institute of Economics and Peace. According to the index Qatar ranked 93rd in the list of the safest and most secure countries in the world.

The index is based on the analysis of various social and economic conditions, as well as geopolitical factors related to the emergence of extremist movements.

It is worth noting that the index indicated that in 2021 deaths caused by terrorist attacks decreased by 1.2% to 7,142 deaths, while attacks increased by 17%, which indicates that terrorism has become less fatal.
