Qatar has been ranked the first in Middle East and North Africa (MENA) and 29th globally in the Global Peace Index (GPI) for the year 2021 issued by the Institute of Economics and Peace in Australia.
The Index shows that the State of Qatar is among the first safest and most secure countries with the lowest crime rate among the 163 countries included in the Index. The Index is based on three main criteria; the level of security and safety in society, the level of local and global conflict, and the degree of military force.
Qatar maintained its thirteenth world ranking in a row in the Middle East and North Africa, and occupied advanced positions at the global level during the same period, by achieving high evaluation rates that surpassed many developed countries in low crime rates, and in many aspects of security and stability.
