Qatar Hosts 52nd Gulf Meeting of Permanent Technical Committee for Civil Retirement and Social Security Bodies

The General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority (GRSIA) is organizing the 52nd meeting of the permanent technical committee for civil retirement and social security bodies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States, in Doha, which begins its works on Monday, October 3 and continues until October 5, 2022.

The delegation of GRSIA is led by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al Kuwari, the Director of Customer Management, in the presence of members of the Technical Committee at the meeting, whose agenda includes 15 items. The most notable items are the initiative to review and update the unified system for extending insurance protection, the initiative to update a comparative study of civil retirement and social insurance systems, and the electronic link initiative among civil retirement and social insurance agencies.

The meeting will discuss several other initiatives, which include training and rehabilitation, the unified annual awareness campaign, the initiative for coordination and participation in international events, the development of collection mechanisms, binding procedures for employers to pay contributions, presentation of statistical indicators for the application of the unified system to extend insurance protection, and targeting workers who are not registered in the unified system according to direct coordination.
