HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, on the morning of yesterday, Tuesday, 22 December 2020, made a visit to Hamad Port. During the visit, he inaugurated the initial operation of Hamad Port's Container Terminal 2, which is equipped with the latest environment-friendly technological equipment to meet the needs and requirements of shipping line operators and would increase the port's capacity by about three million containers per year. The Prime Minister also inaugurated the Hamad Port Health Centre and inspected its facilities equipped with all the medical equipment needed to serve the port's employees and visitors.

During the visit, HE Prime Minister listened to a briefing provided by officials of Mwani Qatar Company about the strategy related to ports, expansions and foreign investments related to ports. In addition, he inspected a number of the port's facilities, where he toured the buildings and stores of food security project in order to view the conduct of under-construction operations there. Moreover, he viewed the progress of work of the control tower at the port. 

During the tour, a number of Their Excellencies Ministers and top officials of Mwani Qatar Company accompanied HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior.
