The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Qatar Solar Energy to develop collaboration opportunities that enhance education and support renewable energy and sustainability.
The MOU was signed by UDST’s president Dr. Salem Bin Nasser Al Naemi and Salim Abbassi, chairperson of Qatar Solar Energy, in the presence of a number of college officials and a delegation from both sides.
The MOU constitutes a strong base that explores research in the energy field, specifically renewable energy. Qatar Solar Energy will participate in the university’s program advisory committee and will join UDST events and conferences that tackle energy audit and renewable energy.
The MOU includes cooperation between the two parties to equip university's facilities and labs with the right sustainable machinery and tools. Furthermore, UDST students will be able to benefit from the training program that the company will offer specifically for them.
Dr. Salem Bin Nasser Al Naemi said: “This collaboration is the start of a path that leads to a more aware generation, with greater knowledge of the planet and the needs of a sustainable economy as stated in Qatar National Vision 2030”.
