The Society of Obstetrics and Perinatal Medicine in the USA has classified the obstetric anesthesia services at the Women's Wellness and Research Center (WWRC) of the Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) as a center of excellence.
WWRC is the first hospital in the Middle East to receive this classification that is granted to health institutions and programs that apply distinguished care in childbirth anesthesia, due to the success of obstetric anesthesia services in achieving high-quality care centered on pregnant women in an effective and safe manner and for their excellence in the fields of education and research.
Hospitals are classified as centers of excellence by the Association of Obstetrics and Perinatal Anesthesia within the annual accreditation program that is announced in the spring of each year.
