Hamad International Airport (HIA) has announced that starting from June 13, 2022, the airport will start testing the concept of limiting the access to the departures and arrivals curbsides to authorized vehicles only, and diverting all general public vehicles to use the available car park facilities for passenger pick-up and drop-off.

In a statement, HIA said that the trails will begin on June 13 at 10:00 am, and mentioned that this is being done in the interest of customer experience, safety and security.
For the convenience of our customers, HIA shall offer grace period of twenty minutes, without charge to ease passenger drop off and pick-up within the Short-Term Car Park.

The statement also stated that payment for short-term car parking must be made at the machines located before the car park, on level 2. There are no payment options available at the exit of the car park.
