At the conclusion of the work of the two-day first Qatar National Human Rights Forum, which was held under the theme, "The role of law enforcement agencies in protecting human rights during FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022," HE Ms. Maryam bint Abdullah Al-Attiyah, Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee (NHRC), affirmed that the State of Qatar's hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 would be a historic example to be followed in all upcoming global competitions and events.  

HE added that the core themes discussed during the forum reflect the cumulative and the extensive experiences of all partner institutions in organizing this event, something which constitutes a reassuring Qatari experience in hosting this World Cup. 

She pointed out that the forum would be part of the Committee's annual strategy to discuss each year one of the most important issues that establish the protection of human rights and the preservation of dignity. She thanked NHRC partners in organizing the forum for their quick response and meeting the call for protecting human rights during the World Cup, particularly because the protection of human rights will be an immortal legacy for the generations of this dear country.
