The Ministry of Education and Higher Education, represented by the Department of Private School Affairs, held an expanded two-day meeting with representatives of private schools and kindergartens.
On this occasion, Ms. Rawda Al Zaidan, Director of Private Schools Office, said that an updated draft of the registration policy would be circulated, particularly in March 2020, to private schools. She added that there were some challenges related to student registration, student transition from class to class, and other issues such as identifying the successful or failing students on the electronic system in some schools, as well as the IGSC certification.
She explained that the new system ensures the reduction of waiting lists in schools, reduces schools overcapacity admissions, and also ensures that the school responds to the guardian within two weeks after the placement test, so that the parent has the opportunity to enroll his/her son or daughter in another school.
