News Details

The National Sports Day (NSD) Committee has announced the amendments in the conditions and guidelines for the sports activities and events for the NSD this year 2021 following coordination with the Ministry of Public Health. The committee said that this was based on the public health indicators of the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the State of Qatar, in order to prevent its spread and out of the keenness to ensure the safety of the community.

In its statement issued yesterday, the Committee disclosed the new amendment, whereby it has been decided that the sporting activities for this year should be individual and only in the open places. This is so that the number of players or participants does not exceed four people in one group, while adhering to social distancing and safe distance that is not less than three meters during sports activity, as the Committee explained.

The public health protocol stipulated that it be not allowed to organize any sports events or activities inside closed places and only individual sporting activities be allowed. It also stipulated that it be also not allowed to hold group activities, such as matches and others that require contact with other players and prevent achieving the required physical distancing.
