The State of Qatar has participated in the eighth virtual Arab e-Government Directors meeting organized by the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), on September 24, 2020. The meeting discussed the plans and initiatives of Arab countries in the field of digital government and represented an opportunity to exchange experiences and propose joint initiatives and projects.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC), revealed on its official website on Twitter that Ms. Mashael Al Hammadi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Information Technology Affairs at the Ministry, presented, a working paper, during the meeting, entitled "Digital Transformation in in the State of Qatar" addressed the most important goals and achievements of the Qatar Digital Government Strategy and Qatar Smart Program (TASMU).

It is worth mentioning that the Government of Qatar has drawn up its future plans towards digital transformation by adopting the best and latest digital technologies, and enhancing its role in upgrading the various sectors of the country, in order to achieve the objectives of Qatar National Vision in diversifying and advancing the national economy and developing a knowledge-based digital economy characterized by diversity, competitiveness, encourages the role of the private sector and relies on innovation and entrepreneurship.
