News Details

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) organized a training workshop titled "Port Security" for its employees and maritime specialists from relevant government entities across the country to train them on the International Ship and Port Facility Security Code (ISPS Code), inspired by the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS).

A number of maritime specialists participated in the workshop from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Interior, Qatar Petroleum, and Mwani Qatar, in addition to a number of maritime transport affairs' employees at MOTC.

The workshop, which lasted for five days, provided a detailed explanation of the Code and the latest effective ways to implement its provisions, as it is the comprehensive mandatory security system for global shipping, in addition to its essential role in strengthening cooperation between contracting governments, government agencies, local administrations, the shipping industry, and ports.
