MOTC Unveils the Trial Release of the New Edition of Qatar E-Government Portal – Hukoomi

The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) has announced the trial release of the new edition of Qatar e-Government Portal - Hukoomi, representing the next generation and latest platform of the official Hukoomi portal. Completely redesigned and revamped using the latest technologies, a large number of services has been added that not only covers government entities, but also several other entities as well.

This soft launch is aimed at gathering and analyzing the feedback of the public and portal users, necessary for further improvement and development of the portal, before the official launch. 

The new portal comprises innovative features that support a centralized customer journey, simplify procedures for users, and meet the needs of all public segments, including Persons with Disabilities and the elderly. The new portal also supports Artificial Intelligence technologies and open data, and is accessible on all types of computers, tablets, and smartphones. It is distinguishing with its high levels of security and privacy, and can be expanded to accommodate more services, information and features over time.

Commenting on the launch, Ms. Mashael Ali Al Hammadi, Acting Assistant Undersecretary for Information Technology Affairs at MOTC, said: “Hukoomi new portal will contribute to realizing the objectives of Qatar National Vision 2030, in terms of institutional modernization and development, as well as supporting the National Development Strategy 2018-2022’s special focus on utilizing capabilities and emphasizing institutional values to promote the level of services provided to individuals and businesses, raise the efficiency of government administrative processes, and effectively deploy information technology in providing public services.”

She added: “Qatar is moving fast on digital transformation and enabling advanced technology to improve human life. In the same context, the continuous development of Hukoomi portal aims at enabling individuals and businesses to access the information they need on government programs and services and participate in such programs and in the development of public policies and decision-making.”

Various features were added to the new edition of Hukoomi portal, such as the user journey that seeks to facilitate user experience, simplify procedures, and offer an easier access to information and data, necessary for completing transactions or extracting official documents. Services are also designed according to life stages and not merely according to the entities that provide them or their relevant procedures.

Other features include Artificial Intelligence, “My Data” that displays the user’s data easily and sends alerts of the services and transactions that must be completed, integrated government services, decentralized content development, centralized database, alerts, and system notifications.

There is a continuous development of Hukoomi portal, starting from the first edition of Qatar e-Government Portal - Hukoomi launched in 2008, followed by the second edition in 2010, and the third edition in 2017.
