The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) announced that 4,382 transactions were completed in the Maritime Transport Sector during the second quarter of this year 2021, and the Ministry confirmed that Qatar's ports managed to acquire 23% of the goods in the Middle East and North Africa, according to the latest international reports.

The Ministry seeks to modernize and develop the Maritime Transport Sector, in line with the rapid international maritime developments through the creative application of international maritime charters, and follow-up of new developments within the framework of the Ministry’s strategic plan, which aims to ensure safe marine navigation and meet all maritime safety conditions.

The Maritime Transport Sector is also working on developing the legal framework regulating marine works, and strengthening technical and administrative work in the areas of inspection, control and investigation of accidents, among others.
