News Details

The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has announced a major milestone for the National COVID-19 Vaccination Program with more than 81% of people aged over 60 who have now received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose since the start of the program and until now.

Dr. Hanadi Al Hamad, National Health Strategy 2018-2022 Lead for Healthy Ageing, said that reaching this milestone of four out of five people over 60 years of age who are the category that is the most vulnerable for the risks of such disease – being vaccinated against COVID-19 is very encouraging. This comes particularly one year after the challenges facing the population in Qatar and the world, and the roll out of the vaccination program is protecting people from COVID-19 and significantly reducing their vulnerability to the risks of such disease, as she said.
