The Ministry of Interior (MOI), on its official Twitter account, has said that the service of cheque reports, one of the e-services provided by MOI, can be done via
MOI website and
Metrash2 mobile application. This service allows establishments and individuals to submit reports of bounced cheques with easy and facilitated steps, without the need to visit police stations.
The service allows a complainant, whether he/she is a concerned individual or person in these institutions, to access the service and submit a report with all required documents attached so that the relevant department will review these data and documents and verify their authenticity. Then, a complainant will be notified in a text message via "Metrash2" stating that the report and its number have been received.
A report applicant will be contacted via a text message if documents are incomplete and will be notified of required documents in order to complete the procedures and refer the report to the Public Prosecution according to the law.
MOI also emphasizes that companies and banks operating in the State and individuals can submit cheque reports via the service designed for this type of reports on MOI website, instead of person (complainant) or representative attending the relevant security department to submit the report manually. Thus, this will facilitate procedures for individuals and these institutions, save their effort and time and help the departments in speeding up the process of getting transactions done, as the Ministry said.
