MOCI, MOL Set Price Caps on Domestic Worker Recruitment

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI), in cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Labour (MOL), announced the decision of the Committee to set the maximum prices and profit rates No.1 of 2022, regarding setting the maximum prices for the recruitment of domestic workers.

The issuance of this decision comes within the framework of the joint efforts of MOCI and MOLto combat the rise in the costs of bringing in domestic workers and to control the domestic labour market according to specific controls that protect all concerned parties.

MOCI and MOL confirmed that, according to the competence of each ministry, work will be done to intensify inspection campaigns to ensure the extent to which the recruitment offices of domestic workers in the country comply with the decision of the Committee to set maximum prices and profit rates No. (1) for the year 2022 regarding setting the maximum prices for the recruitment of domestic workers, and follow-up to the extent to which those concerned with the decision comply with their stipulated obligations and the detection of any violations in this regard.
