The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME) and the Qatar Company for Airports Operation and Management – MATAR signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU), on the sidelines of the events of the 1st International Waste Management Conference yesterday. The MoU is about sorting, isolating and transporting wastes from the source (Hamad International Airport) to the center for the treatment of domestic wastes or other treatment facilities, with the aim of treating or recycling them.
The MoU aims at bolstering and developing joint cooperation between MME and MATAR Company. This also comes as part of the Ministry’s keenness to develop, modernize the available resources and innovate new and effective means in the area of sorting, isolating and transporting wastes to preserve and protect the environment. This is by the engagement of the corporate sector and civil society in achieving sustainable development.
