Under the patronage of HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Minister of Transport HE Mr. Jassim bin Saif Al Sulaiti launched yesterday the Transportation Master Plan for Qatar 2050 (TMPQ).

TMPQ provides a comprehensive framework for the future of road transport with an integrated set of initiatives for all transport users including investment in transport infrastructure in the short, medium and long term.

The plan, prepared by the Ministry, in cooperation with the competent authorities in the country, is a roadmap for investment in transportation nationwide. Sustainability will be the cornerstone of the plan to preserve the environment, and achieve financial sustainability by reducing costs. The expected economic returns from the plan are estimated at 367 billion riyals, and it is based on 4 main pillars development, sustainability, culture and a better quality of life.
