Mega-Solar Power Plants in Qatar to Start Production by End of 2024

QatarEnergy has announced awarding the Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract for its industrial cities solar power project (IC Solar). This project includes 2 large scale photovoltaic (or PV) solar power plants to be built in Mesaieed Industrial City (MIC) and Ras Laffan Industrial City (RLIC) and is expected to start electricity production by the end of 2024.

The announcement was made at a special ceremony held in Doha to sign the EPC contract between QatarEnergy Renewable Solutions and Samsung C&T, which has been selected as the contractor to execute the project.

QatarEnergy Renewable Solutions is a company entirely owned by QatarEnergy and it is tasked with investing in renewable energy and sustainability projects and products within the State of Qatar and worldwide.
