Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) has announced making a new global achievement after the National Program for Conservation and Energy Efficiency (Tarsheed) winning two global awards at the Global Good Governance (3G) Awards affiliated with international Cambridge IFA in its fifth edition. The event was held through an online ceremony in the British capital London due to the current situation of the pandemic of Coronavirus (COVID-19).

Tarsheed has obtained two awards, one of which is the World Championship for Sustainability Award for the total number of projects and savings achieved during 2019. The achievements include success in reducing electricity consumption by about 7,654,489mW hours, reducing water consumption by about 33.781mn cubic metres, and reducing gas consumption by about 73602mn cubic feet.

Tarsheed has also received the Creativity Award for 2020 for the Tarsheed PV electric vehicles charging and energy storage station project. This station is the first of its kind in the State of Qatar and it charges vehicles with electricity produced from solar energy through 216 photovoltaic panels, divided into two areas with a total area of 270sqm equal to a row of 24 cars, and the total energy produced by the panels is 72kW.
