General Tax Authority (GTA) has launched its tax e-portal "Dhareeba" with the aim of running fiscal operations pertaining to taxpayers online in a quick, precise and transparent manner, developing tax work system and easing the burden on companies through facilitating the process of filling and submitting a tax declaration and other operations. GTA announced opening the companies' registration via "Dhareeba" e-portal effective from today, Wednesday, 1 July 2020. The Authority emphasized the need for all companies to complete all procedures required for registration, including companies that have tax cards.
GTA notes that in line with Article No. 69 of the executive regulation of the Income Tax Law issued under the Law No. (24) of the year 2018, addressees under the provisions of the Law and the above mentioned executive regulation must address the Authority and fulfill all their tax obligations, via these online services and IT programs and applications as of the announcement date of its initiation. Moreover, all taxpayers registered at the time of implementing these electronic systems must correct their status and reprocess the registration at GTA in line with the provisions of this executive regulation during 90 days from the date of implementing these systems that is today.
The Authority also states that taxpayers who will register via "Dhareeba" e-portal during 90 days will be exempted from the financial penalties resulting from the failure to register and issue tax card previously, provided that taxpayers must complete the registration before 30 September 2020.
