The General Authority of Customs (GAC) has stated that it is being prepared to launch the first package of online services via its e-customs clearance system (Al Nadeeb) soon.
GAC stated in its Twitter account: "Al Nadeeb e-system works on facilitating business and customs operations and focusing on achieving the satisfaction of customers. This is according to the standards of the World Customs Organization (WCO) and the agreements of the World Trade Organization (WTO) without doing any harm to the movement of imports and exports."
Via a video broadcasted on its website, GAC pointed out that it has been keen to ensure the safety of its staff operating in customs ports, and provided them with a protective uniform, which is applicable to employees who are required to interact with travelers and customers, according to their work duties. GAC emphasized that this comes within the framework of the precautionary measures to curb the spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19).
In another context, custom ports at GAC reported that they have completed 256,557 custom declarations last May.
