The Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA) has launched a public consultation about fifth-generation (5G) private mobile networks. This aims at receiving views and comments of stakeholders about their level of interest in implementing 5G private mobile networks in the State of Qatar and about various regulatory options to support businesses and government entities that wish to implement them.

CRA stated that private telecommunications networks are important since they enable businesses and entities in private and government sectors to ensure communications in their workplaces and among their sites via voice calls and internet data that are flexible, secure and reliable.
