About

Mr. Ibrahim Hassan Al Kuwari, Specialist in Maritime Affairs at the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC), said that after announcing the first stage of the gradual easing of the restrictions, MOTC has defined a description of personal boats for beach-goers, pointing out that in the upcoming gradual stages, commercial boats would be announced, and their operational rules and procedures would be determined.

Mr. Al Kuwari added: "In line with the decision issued by the Supreme Committee for Management Crisis, maritime vessels allowed to be used in the sea during the first stage have been identified as G-boats, personal boats and cruisers. Moreover, decisions have been made to reduce the number of persons available on a maritime vessel to accommodate half of its capacity only."

Personnel affiliated with the Coast and Borders Security Department are set to carry out random checks of maritime vessels and people on board, in order to ensure that the necessary precautionary measures are applied, that EHTERAZ mobile application is installed, and that all maritime vessels' measures are followed, so as to avoid any trip cancellations or violations.
